There’s a penguin in my kitchen!!

I've just found out about something really cool!
If you go onto google and type in the name of any animal, then select view in 3D you can make it look as though the animal is in your house! I now have a penguin in my kitchen!
I thought this would be cool for your Connected Curriculum lesson where you have to research an animal and find out facts about it. Have a try for yourself and send me any pics or videos you make!

Hey everybody,
we have just been given FREE access to Numbots as part of our TTROCKSTARS account! YES!
Simply login using your TTRockstars logins and passwords and you can now play Numbots with really fun games to help with counting skills, adding and subtracting as well as number bonds and doubling! Play the games and collect coins to make your own robots! (It is especially good for our younger children- perhaps you could show your little brothers and sisters).

Hey everybody,
Hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine from your gardens. We are all missing your bright smiley faces already!
I just wanted to say hi and post a link to a secret World War bunker visit that is happening live on Facebook now or you can join in later. Looks very interesting and shows you how war was conducted and planned from the secret bunker as well as life during the Blitz! ( which you all know lots about already!)

I hope you are all ok and getting on well at home! I'm sure that, just like me, you are finding it a bit strange this week! But not to worry ... There are plenty of activities happening at the moment to keep you busy!
9am - P.E with Joe Wicks (live stream on youtube). This is a great way to start yor day, keep fit and get energised!
11am - ' Elevenses with the World of David Walliams' https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/ - every day at 11am you can listen to one of David Walliams' Worlds Worst Children stories, so sit down and enjoy!

Dear 2HR,
I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine, I know I am! Today is Artful Wednesday. I would like you to make or design something from a simple sketch to a junk model. I have decided to make some worry people to help me get through this different and possibly confusing time. These little people could be great friends to share any worries with. I didn't have any fancy materials so I used an old cloth instead.

Hello Year 6!
I hope you have been looking after yourselves and staying safe at home. What amazing weather we have been having - if you have somewhere safe to go outside, make sure you are getting lots of fresh air and making the most of it!
Today I have 2 challenges for you:
1. Gary Lineker is back and he needs help with another maths puzzle. This week it's percentages! Have a go at solivng his questions - let me know how quickly you could do it.

You could write about it, draw it or even present it as a video (I know some of you are so creative with technology and can probably think of an even more exciting way - I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with).

25.03.20 - Science (+ a science challenge!)

Good morning everyone!
Today's focus is science, and more specifically, the life cycle of mammals. Did you know that kangaroos look after their joey it their pouch when it's only the size of a bean? Did you know that platypus' produce milk in the same way they sweat? There are lots of new facts!
I have a science challenge for you all - it doesn't matter if it is with this worksheet, or with another. I want you to show a life cycle in a creative way. I want you to think about how you could present this. A drawing, a pop up, a booklet? It's your choice! This can be about any of the life cycles we've looked at in school, or that you have in your pack.
I'm looking to give outstanding to those children who have clearly put some effort in when having a go.

Good morning everyone! I'm loving seeing what work you've been getting on with. Well done!
Today's maths is about time - we're great at reading a digital clock (thanks to technology) but some of us struggle reading an analogue clock, so that might be something worth practising at home grown ups 
I've attached the sheet that I'm discussing on the video, in case you don't have it in your pack - remember, you don't need to do the sheets in a particular order, it's up to you which challenge you want to accept.
Here are some questions on time, if you want to practice this skill.
1. What is 45 minutes after 8:20?
2. What is 30 minutes after 9:15?
3. What time is half an hour before 11:10?
4. The train leaves Hogwarts at 10:15. It arrives at Diagon Alley at 11:05. How long is the train journey?

9am - As I keep saying, Joe Wicks PE on YouTube. This is so much fun and keeps you fit and healthy.
10am - On Facebook (ask to go on your parents account) Oti Mabuse from Strictly Come Dancing is doing live dance lessons. She did one to the Lion King song the other day so give her a look!
11am - Storytime with David Walliams. every day at 11am on www.worldofdavidwalliams.com he releases an audio book so you can listen to him reading. He might even read The Midnight Gang!!!
Carol Vorderman's website www.themathsfactor.com is free until schools return. This is a great website for maths of all ages.

Week 1 Activities: Can you write a prediction linked to 'The Egg' Story?

Good Morning Reception!
Today I thought it would be a nice idea to look at the front cover of a new story book called 'The Egg.' Take a look at the 'Show Me' video below and see if you can predict what animal or creature might be inside the egg! Does it look like one of our chick eggs in school? Or our 'odd' egg? Or the emu eggs we looked at? I wonder what could be inside!

To help you organise your days , why not make a timetable for your home learning ?
Write down what you will do from your home learning pack each morning and maybe read a book after lunch. Tick each activity off as you complete it.
Remember that you can email your class teacher with any questions about the work in your home learning pack.

Good Morning Reception,
On Monday hopefully you listened to the stories that we used when we were thinking about what comes out of an egg.
Today we want you to pick one story and start talking to your grown up about what you would like to create. Look at the sheet called 'Reception Holiday Homework' for some ideas. You may want to look at some ideas on the Internet using your grown and their phone, IPAD, laptop or computer. You may want to start collecting things around your house to make your creation or save a box or bottle if you are making a model.
