School Council
Welcome to the School Council Page
Ravensbury School Council takes pride in its responsibility to improve our school. We believe every child has a voice and it is important to listen to their ideas.
What is a School Council?
A school council meets to discuss and sort out problems and ideas. They have the opportunity to share their feelings and opinions about things that affect them.
-
The children work on small projects together to help make the school a better place. These may include school lunches, behaviour or ideas for fundraising events/ fun school events.
-
Members of the school council will be responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as planning charity events and putting forward views of other children in the school!
At the beginning of each school year, the children present a manifesto to their fellow class members, who then take to the polling booths to vote! Each class from year 2-6 elects 1 communication team member, to sit on the School Council. The communication team meet every half term to express their views and make decisions.
Children in the communication team are very keen to help make our school the very best it can be. It is their responsibility to share their opinions and thoughts with the rest of the team, keep any important notes and to report any developments back to the other children (and the teacher!) in their class!
So…need anything or want your opinions to be heard, tell your communication team member - they’re here to help!
