Nursery 2023 - 2024

Welcome to Nursery!

Hello and welcome to Nursery! We have two classes that work together across the Nursery Unit to have fun, learn and explore the world around us. We learn by delivering a challenging, play based EYFS curriculum.

The School Day

The school gate opens at 8.40am and the day finishes at 3:20pm.  Please make sure you arrive on time to ensure your child is not missing out on valuable learning. We have lunch at 11:25am where your child can bring a packed lunch or have a school dinner (to be paid for at the school office). The Nursery school day ends at 3.20pm, please be prompt as your children will be very excited to see you and tell you all about their day.

Home Learning

From time to time we will send tasks home for you to collect resources or find out about something we are learning about in class. We will send a note home so you know what we need you to do to help. For example, we might need your child to bring in a favourite book or collect some objects from the park. We also send home holiday homework, at the end of each half term, for you to enjoy creating and making tasks with your child at home.

Clothes

At Nursery children love messy play – especially in the water! This means that your child may need to change into dry or clean clothes during the school day. Please can you make sure your child has a spare set of uniform in a labelled bag in case of any emergencies. As the weather in Manchester is renowned for being very wet, please ensure your child has a pair of named wellies in school and a waterproof coat with a hood. This means we can still enjoy playing outside even when it’s raining!

If you have any questions please ask a member of the Nursery team.

Have a look and see what we are learning this half term...

"At Nursery we love to play. I feel all wriggly and happy”.  We can run, climb, build, paint, play with play dough, eat dinner in the home corner. There are lots of toys to play with. The teachers help us to learn when we play with them."
