HOUSE POINTS
At Ravensbury, we are very proud of our house points system, which we feel creates a sense of belonging and helps our children to develop pride in their achievements and work in school as well as encouraging team work. Each child is allocated to one of the four houses: Air, Earth, Fire and Water. One of the 4 elements…

Our children all enjoy earning House Points for a wide range of reasons where they shine: for positive attitudes to learning, excellent work, behaviour and manners, helpfulness, home learning or for representing school in sporting events.

This year we are also going to run house competitions throughout the year, designed and implemented by the house captains where the children can compete against each other in teams.

The house captains are made up of Year 6 children who, at the beginning of each new school year, must write and deliver a speech to their fellow team mates, explaining why they feel they would be a good choice as house captain. The winning captains are responsible for motivating their house to victory. This year, the speeches were very impressive and the children bowled everyone over with their ideas. Congratulations to our current House Captains on their successful election.

House points are read out in every Friday morning assembly, where a friendly rivalry develops. At the end of each half term, the winning house is awarded a special treat such as film and popcorn, our wonderful Christmas crafts grotto, a trip to the park or even a special visitor.  Check this page regularly for updates on who the current winners are!
