Wednesday 1st July

Date: 1st Jul 2020 @ 8:41am

Hello Year 3!

It's July today! I can't believe how quickly this year is going. Even though I've been inside since the end of March I really feel like the time has gone quickly. What I have enjoyed is being able to work with different year groups - before I joined Year 3 I was working with Year 2. So even though this situation isn't ideal, I've loved seeing all the wonderful work from across the school!

Good Morning Year 3!

How are you all doing? I hope you've had a good weekend. It's a shame the sunny weather seems to have ended for now, I love being outside when I can.

Thank you to everyone once again for sending me so many emails over the past week. Miss Faragher and Miss Humphreys were very impressed!

On Padlet this week we are going to be extending our seaside vocabulary, looking again at mass and weight, answering inference and referal questions and spelling more homophones! I'm looking forward to reading your poems at the end of the week!

Good Morning Year 3!

It's fantastic Friday! Hope everyone is ok and ready for the weekend. I watched a very exciting football match last night - it finally meant that after 30 years, Liverpool won the league! Which is a very long time I know! I am going to have a big google chat celebration tonight with family and friends in Liverpool, London and Portugal!

Thank you again for all of your emails. It's been lovely to see your work and all of your creative projects. I will be showing off some wonderful learning later today in a celebration blog!

26th June #30DaysWild - Challenge 26

Date: 26th Jun 2020 @ 6:59am

Hello Ravensbury wildlife lovers,

The end of another week and it’s going to be a little cooler today. It was so hot yesterday again! I think the ducks will be happy with the rain later.

Today’s challenge is to use your ears as the sun sets tonight. Listen for the wildlife concert that is played in your back garden every evening. You could record it and email the concert to me.

Have a wonderful, sunny and safe Thursday.

If you would like to keep going through the weekend, here are your challenges. Challenge number 27 is to sit with a friend in nature (remember to keep a safe distance) and number 28 asks you to build a den:

Thursday 25th June

Date: 25th Jun 2020 @ 9:03am

Good Morning Everyone!

Another lovely sunny day! I can't believe how warm it is so early in the morning; in my garden at 7am it was 24 degrees. It's actually warmer in Manchester than it is in Portugal where my Mum lives!

I'm loving receiving your emails Y3 - yesterday I had some beautiful art work from Theodosia which I will share with everyone at the end of the week. I also recieved maths and writing from Fatima, Nabel, Yuqing, Yinxin and Shawnakaye!

Here is your learning for today - https://padlet.com/missfaragher/kj2clvf5jjlr98k1

25th June #30DaysWild - Challenge 25

Date: 25th Jun 2020 @ 7:13am

Hello everybody,

It’s Thursday already! It was so hot yesterday and it looks like it’s going to be another scorcher today so make sure you wear a hat and put your sun cream on when you’re out in the wild today.

Today’s challenge is to make an accessory out of flowers. I used to love to make daisy chains when I was a little girl. Can you make something to add to your outfit or to give to someone you love?

Have a wonderful, sunny and safe Thursday.

24th June #30DaysWild - Challenge 24

Date: 24th Jun 2020 @ 8:56am

Welcome to another wild Wednesday challenge.

Today’s challenge is to use nature to create a piece of art. Please only use leaves and twigs and flowers that have naturally fallen to the floor. If it has fallen onto the floor it’s nature’s gift to you. You could press leaves or a flower in a book or create a picture.

Have a wonderful, sunny and safe Wednesday.

Thank you so much to this amazing young learner who drew a picture of her favourite bird. It’s beautifully drawn and shows you how high the bald eagle nests. Can anyone tell me facts about bald eagles?

Hello Year 3!

Ooooh it looks like it's going to a very hot day! I've got my work desk set up in the back garden already! If you are outside today, make sure you have your head protected and stay in the shade. We don't want anyone getting burnt!

It was lovely to see your work again yesterday! Thanks to all those children who emailed me, it's really nice to get to know Y3 a bit better!

Good Morning Year 3!

Before we get started on your home learning for this week, I would just like to say hello! It's Miss Wendt here!

Some of you will know me from teaching in Year 5. From today I am going to be helping with your home learning, as both Miss Faragher and Miss Humphreys are working back in school where they have a bubble of children that they are teaching. They will be checking in every day to see who is working hard and checking our y3 email too.

I'm really excited to be working with y3, it's one of my favourite years to teach!

Date: 19th Jun 2020 @ 9:06am

Hello Wildlife Wardens of Ravensbury!

We’ve reached the end of another week getting out in the wild. We have such a lot of beauty in our world. Remember that when you see something in the wild.

Today’s challenge is to draw a wildflower. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law have lived in lots of amazing places around the world. Some of the photos at the bottom are from places as far away as Saudi Arabia and some are from my local woods. Can you find a wildflower and draw it?

Have a fun filled day

Good Morning once again Ravensbury!

Time really is flying. We are over half way through our wild month enjoying our time learning about and enjoying nature.

Today’s challenge is about sticks! Your challenge is to find a stick.  What can you pretend your stick is? Will it be a wand? Can you turn it into a pencil and write in the mud with it? Let your imagination GO WILD!
