Snow!!

Last week the children were very excited to see the snow when they came to school. At break time we played in the snow made snow angels and had snowball fights.

Outstanding Learning! Week 3

This week, year 4 have been working extremely hard. It has been so lovely to see all of the outstanding work you have done The level of work you have completed has, once again, been astounding, and we are so proud of each and every one of you.

A difficult decision as always, but we have chosen three children from each class to receive an outstanding this week.

We could have picked all of you - because you are working so hard and being such amazing learners! We've attached some of the fantastic work that you have done in this blog post, so that everyone can see why we were so amazed!

In our TTRockstars battle, 4JB are in the lead with a huge 2,189 points! 4CB, we have some catching up to, as we are currently on 250 points .

In the multiplication square this morning, Miss Brookes completed it in 3 minutes 5 seconds, did you beat her?

Making Jam Sandwiches

This week our English focus is how to write instructions. The main features that we need in our instructions are:

*a title

*a 'what you will need' list

*numbered instructions

*time connectives 

*bossy verbs 

 

The children have already done a fantastic job of writing instructions on 'how to clean your teeth' this week. 

Today we have made jam sandwiches and the children are going to write their instructions tomorrow using their own photographs.

We are so pleased with how many of you are completing your home learning! We've seen some amazing writing, maths, phonics and connected curriculum creations! Keep up the amazing hard work!

Old Toys

This afternoon we have explored some old toys as part of the launch to our 'toys' topic. 

We played with dominos, playing cards, dolls, Barbies, flick books and many more old toys. Miss Powell even brought her Barbies and dolls in from when she was little! 

We had a lovely afternoon playing with them and learning some new rules for the old games! 

P.E. Mondays!

This morning we had our P.E. lesson with our city coach Georgia. This was our second lesson we Georgia and we loved it! 
We warmed up with a relay race and moved onto a game of pirate treasure. The children had to dodge the pirates, collect the treasure and get back to their base without getting caught! 
we can't wait until our lesson next week!

Year 1 - Super Home Learners
