Welcome to our Junior Librarians

I would like to introduce our junior librarians Ellie, Enoch, Comfort, Hawraa, Paige G, Mate, Jennifer, Lora, Simon, Paige R. To become a junior librarian they had to read the job description and fill in an application form, and then come for an interview. The task to choose them was very difficult as 36 children applied for only 10 places. They were chosen as their application had a uniqueness about it and showed, over and above, where their skills may be suitable.

Their tasks will be to help organise and sort the library and to act as a reading ambassador. Their first job was on World Book Day, the theme this year was “share a story” we wanted to share stories with people in our community. The junior librarians visited local residential care homes to share their favourite stories and talk with residents.

They were fabulous ambassadors from our school and both the residents and staff said it had made their day. We left them a reading teddy as a memory of our visit.

We care, We soar’
