Changes to the timings of the school day
Dear Parents/carers,
From September 2023, the Department for Education expects all state-funded, mainstream schools to provide a compulsory school week of at least 32 ½ hours for all statutory age pupils. To meet this requirement, we will need to make some small changes to the timings of the school day.
We are proposing the following changes:
School gates will open at 8.40am and will close at 8.50am. Children arriving after this time will be late and will need to enter through the main entrance.
Morning registration will be at 8.50am for all pupils so all children need to be in by this time.
Timings of the school day from September 2023
Nursery and Reception 8.50am - 3.20pm
Year 1 and Year 2 8.50am - 3.20pm
Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 8.50am – 3.30pm
School gates will open to collect children at 3.15pm and will close at 3.40pm
