Monday's Learning in Year One

Date: 28th Jun 2020 @ 7:51pm

Happy Monday!

We hope you had a lovely weekend and managed to get out for some exercise when it wasn't raining. My son Joseph went for a very long, windy walk on Saturday, in Edale. Edale is near a place called Castleton. Why don't you have a look on the internet to see what it looks like. He came back very wet but he felt very happy because he had managed to walk and get some exercise. This weeks learning will be on Padlet . You will need to follow this link to see it, every day.

Daily challenges

maths- The focus is going to be on money and using it to pay for items.

phonics-reading and writing words that contain split digraphs

Can we remind you to have a go at the weekly challenges too! It would be lovely to see that you have read and practised writing your spellings, listened to how to write instructions and had a go at writing your own instructions to make a lion. We have left them on for an extra week so you can have a go at some of them.

Thankyou

Date: 26th Jun 2020 @ 6:57am

Hello Ravensbury wildlife lovers,

The end of another week and it’s going to be a little cooler today. It was so hot yesterday again! I think the ducks will be happy with the rain later.

Today’s challenge is to use your ears as the sun sets tonight. Listen for the wildlife concert that is played in your back garden every evening. You could record it and email the concert to me.

Have a wonderful, sunny and safe Thursday.

Weekend challenges:

If you would like to keep going through the weekend, here are your challenges. Challenge number 27 is to sit with a friend in nature (remember to keep a safe distance) and number 28 asks you to build a den:

25th June #30DaysWild - Challenge 25

Date: 25th Jun 2020 @ 7:12am

Hello everybody,

It’s Thursday already! It was so hot yesterday and it looks like it’s going to be another scorcher today so make sure you wear a hat and put your sun cream on when you’re out in the wild today.

Today’s challenge is to make an accessory out of flowers. I used to love to make daisy chains when I was a little girl. Can you make something to add to your outfit or to give to someone you love?

Have a wonderful, sunny and safe Thursday.

Welcome to another wild Wednesday challenge.

Today’s challenge is to use nature to create a piece of art. Please only use leaves and twigs and flowers that have naturally fallen to the floor. If it has fallen onto the floor it’s nature’s gift to you. You could press leaves or a flower in a book or create a picture.

Have a wonderful, sunny and safe Wednesday.

Thank you so much to this amazing young learner who drew a picture of her favourite bird. It’s beautifully drawn and shows you how high the bald eagle nests. Can anyone tell me facts about bald eagles?
