Viking Day

Date: 9th Jun 2023 @ 2:27pm

On Tuesday, Year 4 celebrated our Viking day where we came dressed as Vikings, and participated in  a range of Viking activities.

At the beginning of the day, we decorated our shields and took them outside to play some team games. One was called fishing. Later, we raided an Anglo-Saxon village and found lots of artefacts! After breaktime, we raided a British village and Miss Bryce and Mrs Caine were not very happy...they came back to class to find that their furniture had been plundered! oops! We celebrated our victory with mead.

We explored Thor's hammer next, and created it using marshmallows or flapjacks. We're not sure Thor's real hammer was that tasty...

In the afternoon, we began our CC unit and explored the similarities and difference between the Anglo-Saxon and Viking invasions!

‘We create, We explore,

We care, We soar’
