Good Morning Reception!!
Let us start by getting active with the new alphabet song I showed you yesterday:

Now try listening and joining in with these songs by Jack Hartman:

Today I want you to continue looking at the Phase 3 sounds from this week and use the Phase 2 sounds confidently in your reading and writing.
Start by playing quick write. Your grown up will say one of the words below and you must write it for them thinking about your segmenting, blending and letter formation.

If you have the words that you wrote on scraps of paper from this week, dig them out because today I want you to play ‘cross my river.’ If you can remember how to play this game tell your grown up now. However, if you have forgotten grown ups this is what you must do…
Have a piece of material that is the ‘river’ and place it in the middle of the room or you could do it outside. You may want to use fabric, paper, or anything that you have that can become a river shape. Ask your child to pick a word card and say to them ‘If your work has the sound v, x, y, j, z, zz you may cross my river.’ Focus on the Phase 3 sounds that we have practised this week. How many times will you be able to cross the river...?
Now look at the pictures below that begin with one of the Phase 3 sounds that we have focussed on this week. Pick 3 pictures and write me some super sentences.

As a extra challenge, can you think of other things that begin with the sounds above? Use those words and write some super sentences.
Don’t forget to send in your photos/work to receptionhomelearning@ravensbury.manchester.sch.uk
