Sentence of The Day
Date: 22nd Apr 2020 @ 11:06am
Today our sentence links to our science topic ‘The Circulatory System’ and is a typical sentence that would be ideal for a heart rate investigation outcome.
The findings from the investigation on heart rate/pulse rate are that the more we exersise, the faster the heart rate; the body increases its beats per minute to deliver the neccessary blood flow to the muscles.
The sentence above has many features which make it clearer to read and understand.
- A slash to show the link between heart rate and pulse rate to show they both mean the same thing and give extra detail.
- The sentence compares two things, ‘the more we exercise’ with ‘the faster the heart rate’. This shows the relationship between what we have explored and is a common way of writing following a science investigation.
- There is a comma to separate the sentences which compare two variables.
- I have also used a semi-colon to expand the sentence to give additional information.
Now can you spot the two spelling errors I have made in my sentence and correct them?
