Today we are going to create playdough spiders. We are then going to count different amounts of eyes and legs onto our spider and find the numeral to show how many.
For this activity you will need:
- Play dough (see recipe below)
- Eyes (these can be small balls of paper, buttons, googly eyes etc) put the eyes in a pot ready to use.
- Legs (you can use small pipe cleaners, cut up straws, small sticks/twigs, string etc)
- Number cards (from yesterday!)
- Use dough to create a spider’s body. Use your hand to roll the dough into different sized balls.
- Count out eyes from the pot and press them on to the dough.
- Count out legs from the pot and push them in to the dough.
- Find the number cards to show how many eyes and legs are on your spider.
You can repeat the activity to create spiders with different amounts of eyes and legs!
Well done! Great counting and number recognition!
