Creating Massai Shields

Over the last 2 weeks we have been working with Mrs McCaffer our Art teacher. 

The children have explored different African patterns and used them to plan what they would draw on their African Massai shields. They used watercolours and thought really carefully about which colours they chose, where they would put the pattern on their shield and how to make the lines look thicker. 

They then decorated the edge of their shield by sewing with coloured wool. The children all showed great skill and concentration when completing these shields, I am so proud of them!
