Wider Pastoral Framework
Ravensbury Community School is very committed to the emotional well-being of all its children, parents and staff. We believe that it is essential to support people with their emotional well-being to enable them to reach their full potential and improve their quality of life. In order to achieve this, we provide a range of provision for our school community to access to enable them to succeed, be resilient and emotionally healthy, both now and in the future. This provision consists of a parent support worker, drama therapist, pastoral support worker and therapeutic consultant and play therapist.
We recognise that each child is an individual, with different experiences which they bring to school. Therefore we offer a range of therapeutic and pastoral provision for the children including a drop in, individual, paired and group work interventions. We hold social inclusion meetings every half term where children’s needs are explored and the appropriate provision is allocated and then reviewed on completion.
We recognise the importance of supporting parents both practically and emotionally and provide access to a parent support worker, play therapist and also offer parent child play sessions. The well-being of our school staff is crucial and we understand the importance of supporting them by offering them the opportunity to access weekly staff consultations and we see the positive impact this has on the children. We also offer training on attachment and reflective language and ensure that any new members of staff access this to ensure all our staff are fully trained.
