Coronavirus Update

The Government met on Thursday and made the decision that it was not appropriate to close schools at this stage. The scientific advice is that closing schools could do more harm than good but of course this is being kept under review. We will keep you updated as this may change as the disease spreads. The school continue to follow guidance issued by Public Health England, Department for Education and the Local Authority.

The latest advice is if anybody has either: a high temperature and a new, continuous cough then they should self-isolate for 7 days. If the conditions get worse during this time then you should ring the coronavirus service on 111. Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

As a precautionary measure for the time being schools have been advised to reduce the number of visitors to the school so:

  • Class assemblies will be postponed and rescheduled at a later date
  • Celebration assemblies will not go ahead
  • Any visits and visitors planned between now and Easter will be postponed
  • Parents evening will be postponed

We will keep you updated as and when we receive information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
