Wednesday 22nd April Writing

Date: 22nd Apr 2020 @ 8:02am

Good Morning Reception!

This week so far you have listened to the new text called ‘Mad about Minibeasts’ and you have started to label and remember the minibeast names. If you want to listen to the text again use the link below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rDQN8I7RkY

Today I want you to start by finding the PowerPoint called ‘Minibeast parts.’ Your grown up will help you to find it on this blog. We are going to learn about the different parts of a minibeast or insect. Our body parts are called names like head, shoulders, knees, and toes but on an insect/minibeast the different parts have unusual names. You may want to start by singing 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes...' Can you sing the part where we miss out the words 'head, shoulders, knees and toes...'?

Look through the information in the PowerPoint with your grown up. Try to remember the names of the different parts of a minibeast.

Now find the activity called label the parts of a butterfly. Your challenge is to use the words at the side of the picture and try to label the words on the picture in the right places. When you have finished look at the second page where it will give you the answers. Only look at the second page when you have finished…

Extra challenge – Can you draw another minibeast from the text and try to label the different parts using the words from the butterfly picture. All minibeasts usually have the same names of the different parts of the body.

Don't forget to send an email with your pictures and writing! receptionhomelearning@ravensbury.manchester.sch.uk
