Happy new year!

What a busy week. Read and outline of our week below.

On January the 4th, when we arrived at school, we found a mysterious egg in the playground. We brought it upstairs to our classroom and decided what we should do about it. We decided that we would write a persuasive letter to Mrs Hughes to try and persuade her to either get rid of it, or let us keep it and see what might happen. We then explored the features of a persuasive letter, and focussed on the reason, audience and features. We then generated points for and against, before debating as a class. The jury decided that they would side with the points against keeping the egg, but we will see what Mrs Hughes says. You'll see a picture of the egg below.

Maths

In maths, we have been learning about fractions. We have looked at what a whole unit is, used a fraction wall to find equivalent unit and non-unit fractions. This is something we will continue next week.

Connected curriuculum

In our CC this week, we launched our unit by creating a rain dance, which is why it has rained so much this week - sorry! We have explored what a river is and the different features of it.

Check back next week for more fun-filled learning! Mysterious egg.jpg
