Quiz 22.5.20

Date: 22nd May 2020 @ 10:32am

Good morning everyone and thank you to everyone who sent in an answer to yesterday's quiz.

The flag was of course for Scotland which is part of the United Kingdom (as is Wales which was the link to Mrs Harriott's flag!) They mostly speak English in Scotland but a few people still speak Gaelic which is an old Scottish language.

Well done to Maddison who knew all of this, Jennifer who knew that it was Scotland and that they used to speak Gaelic (she also told us that welcome to Scotland in Gaelic is: Fãilte gu Alba!) and Heer and Ganesa who knew that the flag was for Scotland.

Today's flag and a challenge for next week

I feel like we have to have this flag now to complete the set! What country is this flag used for? (even though it doesn't have an official flag any more!) What is the capital of the country? Also what is the link to the last few flags we have posted?

We won't be here over the next week as it's half term and we think that everyone deserves a break. However if you fancy a challenge then we're asking you to now send us a picture of a flag and some questions about it to challenge us on EALhomelearning@ravensbury.manchester.sch.uk . We might even post some of them after half term so you can be challenging your friends at school! Good luck!

Have a good half term and stay safe.
