Maths Star!

Maths is one of our Key Priorities in school this year. In Year 1 we have started a project called 'Mastering Number' which allows children to use lots of concrete resources to help them to understand number bonds, odd, even numbers and concepts such as ordinal numbers and doubling and halving numbers. 

We have a maths star this week who has used the ideas in our mastering number lessons and independently went to the maths area to find the number bonds for 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 using the part whole model and cubes. Well done Hussain!!! He even went to show Mrs Thewlis and Miss Wendt the photograph and explained what he did! Great Job!
