Maths Daily Challenge – Tuesday 14th July

Date: 13th Jul 2020 @ 6:34pm

Hi Nursery!

This week in our Maths learning we are going to use everyday language related to money.

Meet Rat! Rat is for sale, he costs 1p.

Can you see the price tag with the number 1 on? This tells us how much it costs. Rat costs 1 pence.

We would then be able to buy it using money. Can you spot the 1p coin?

Take a look at this super story called ‘The Great Pet Sale’.

In this story a boy wants to buy a pet but which pet will he buy?

Watch the story carefully then after the story have a go at answering the questions below. Click on the picture to watch the story:

How much money did the tiny terrapin cost?

Can you remember all the animals beginning with the letter ‘p’?

How much did they cost?

How much would you need to buy a box of assorted little brown creatures?

How much money did the boy have to spend?

What did he buy?

If you had some money to spend in the pet shop, which animal would you buy? How much money would you need?

Today’s challenge: Draw a picture of the Rat from the story and write the price next to it to show how much it costs.

Have a great day!

We care, We soar’
