Connected Curriculum: Minibeasts

How are you going to learn about minibeasts this week?

You can choose how you would like to learn about minibeasts by picking one or more of the challenges below:

 

1) Story time:

This week’s minibeast story is about a spider! Click on the picture below to listen to the story.

In this story, all Spider wants is to be a family pet. But the family whose house he lives in are terrified of him. Whenever he tries to show them what a great pet he would make, they simply cry, 'Aaaarrgghh, Spider!'.

 

Would you like a pet spider? What would your spider look like? What would you like to see it do?

Draw a picture to show of your pet spider, can you give your spider a name?

2) Spiders:

Enjoy finding out about different sorts of spiders in Andy's Secret Hideout, play along with this fun interactive episode and find out more!

 

3) Get squiggling: Meet Selma the Spider and see where she lives. Can you draw Selma's web with Squiglet?

Now see if you can draw Selma the spider next to her web!

4) Story and Song time

Enjoy listening to this Incy Wincy Spider story and join in with singing the nursery rhyme Incy Wincy Spider!

5) Move and dance

Dance along to this classic nursery rhyme with a modern twist!

Can you move your arms and legs like a spider? How does your spider move?

 

6) Let’s get creative!
