Switch off fortnight

Our school has partnered with EDF Energy’s education programme ‘The Pod’ to celebrate Switch Off Fortnight this November. More than 1,700 schools across the UK are joining in the action.

Over the fortnight, pupils will focus on saving energy at school by running an energy audit and identifying where energy is wasted. The Eco-team will be counting how many times unused lights or whiteboards need to be switched off throughout a day. We will also be encouraging children to continue the campaign at home.

At home, please encourage your child to identify energy wastage and what they could do to combat it.

Should you wish to have a look, there are lots of exciting resources and games around the topic of being environmentally friendly at https://www.jointhepod.org/students
