We have been Rodger the Resilent Rhino Beetle this week!

Date: 26th Sep 2021 @ 6:11am

Hello,

This week we have been working really hard  be Resilient! Resilience is one of the schools learning powers and the children having been trying hard to ' bounce back' and ' keep trying' when their learning gets hard like Rodger the Resilient Rhino Beetle.

In maths, we have been trying hard to build and then drawing representations of numbrs within 100. Some of the childrenn find it really tricky to group amounts in to 10's and became confused between 10 and 1 when drawing the different amounts. They used a range of mathematical resources to help them and then had a go at drawing the amounts as neatly as possible.

As part of the topic work 'Why can't we just eat chocolate?' the children worked with Mrs Mccaffer the art teacher to produce some food art vegetable prints. They worked collaboratively to produce a class print and worked alone to produce their own patterns. The children's work was amazing! Why don't you ask the children which vegetables they used? Mrs McCaffer went to a special shop to buy the vegetables and some of them were new to us!

We can't wait to see what learning they do next week!

Thanks
