Phonics
Let’s start todays phonics by having a recap of the ‘ee’ sounds from yesterday.
ee, ea, ie, e-e, y, ey
We are going to play a yes or no game. Read the sentences to yourself and answer yes or no.
On Tuesday I told you that this week we are recapping our phase 5 sounds. Look at your phase 5 sound mat again and go through the different sounds. If you need a little help remembering the sounds then watch the video below and listen carefully to the sounds.

Today we are going to practice words with igh phonemes (sounds) in them.
Challenge one – Quick Think. Can you remember any ways to write the igh phoneme (sound)? I will give you a clue there are 5 different ways. Can you write them all down?
Click the folder at the bottom called ‘The igh family’ to find out if you found them all.
Challenge two – Have a look at these pictures and say the word. The words all have an igh sound in them. Write the word to match the picture.
Challenge three – Use the words that you have found to write some different yes and no sentences. For example…
Is it light in the night?
Can you roll a five on the dice?
Good Luck! Don’t forget to send any home learning that you are proud of to y1homelearning@ravensbury.manchester.sch.uk
