Our Amazing Bodies - Continued

Date: 2nd Oct 2021 @ 10:53am

Hi everyone!

I hope you all have had a lovely week.

This week the children have continued learning about their bodies and explored the bones that make up our skeletons. We have read the story "Funnybones" toegther and talked about what the skeleton looks like and what it is made of. We have built skeleton pictures from puzzle pieces and drawn and labelled some of the bones we know. Some of us even wrote sentences to describe what different parts of our bodies do! We have also explored what we can do with our bodies in different amounts of time.

We have continued to use our bodies in PE as we are learning to be gymnasts! We have learnt how to transition between two new gymnastic poses (arch and dish) by rolling on our mats.

In maths we have explored finding one more and one less than a number by using a number line, and other concrete resources. The children are becoming very confident using all of the differnet maths resources w ehave in our classroom!

In English we have begun to verbally compose and write our own sentences. We have discussed what a good sentence needs to have and had a go at writing independently in our Big Write session.

I am so proud of the independence 1JH are devloping. I can't wait to see more of the amazing work they will produce as we go through the year. Keep on working hard everyone!
