Article of the Week: Article 24

Article 24: Children have the right to the best health care, clean water to drink, healthy food and a clean and safe environment to live in. 

This week, we think it's important that everyone learns about Article 24. Article 24 states: Children have the right to the best health care, clean water to drink, healthy food and a clean and safe environment to live in. All adults and children should have information about how to stay safe and healthy.

This is something we explore a lot of Ravensbury, whether it is through whole school assemblies, or in the classroom during science, P.E, PSHE or design and technology lessons. 

One of the ways we meet this right, is by giving each child a free reusuable water bottle, which is replaced every school year. This water bottle is filled up with fresh water every single day - and the children are never refused when they ask if they can have a drink. The school council also carefully considered our school menu, which was then changed to make sure it was both healthy and something that we would enjoy.
