Transition Meeting follow up

Thank you to all the parents who came to the meeting on Wednesday. We really appreciate your support in helping us ready your child for moving into Year 3.

Some parents have requested the 5 key well-being skills and 5 key academic skills that we discussed on Wednesday to be readily available. They will be going out in a booklet, but for your reference we’ve included them here too.

• Be able to get dressed/changed for PE quickly
• Be responsible for own book bag and coat/jumper
• Be able to enter/exit the building without adult supervision
• Be able to tie shoelaces
• Be responsible for handing in homework weekly

• Be able to read, write and say the 2x 5x 10x tables
• Be able to read for a sustained 10 minutes – and talk about what they have read
• Be able to write a date and title, and use a ruler to underline
• Be able to write simple sentences with a full stop and a capital letter
• Neat, joined handwriting
