Monday 8th June Phonics

Date: 8th Jun 2020 @ 8:22am

Good Morning Reception,

I hope you have had a lovely weekend, even though the weather was a little bit wet!

We are going to start our phonics with the new Tricky word song. Sing along with it below.

Today we are going to learn some new Phase 4 tricky words – do, some, come, little.

In Phase 4 we have learnt the tricky words – said, have, like, so, do, come, some, little. Use these tricky words to play the games below:

Play splat the tricky word – write the above tricky words on scraps of paper and spread them out. Your grown up will say a word and you must splat it.

Quick write – Your grown up will say a tricky word and you must write it without looking at the list.

Our new sound today is ‘oi.’ Watch today’s video at the bottom of the blog.

Look at the pictures and words on the poster, which ones can you read?

Here are today’s practise and apply activities, which one will you choose?

Activity 1 – Label each picture with the ‘oi’ word.

Activity 2 – How many ‘oi’ words can you think of in a minute?

Activity 3 – Play Buried Treasure with the ‘oi’ words.

Activity 4 – Read the ‘oi’ words on the balloons and pop them.
