Welcome to our class page!
We are very excited that you will be able to see all the wonderful activities we do each week. Please keep checking back to our page to see what activities we have been up to and to learn more about our exciting learning!
In Year 4 we have exciting opportunities to learn lots of new and interesting things. One of our favourite things to do is read, we read a story at the end of every day. At the moment we are reading ‘The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark’ by Jill Tomlinson and are really enjoying finding out all the different reasons that people like being in the dark.
In order to help at consolidate all of our learning at home, please make sure that you are reading for at least 20 minutes each night. Times-table practice is also really important, we test these each week!
Things to remember:
Swimming – We go swimming on a Wednesday morning. Please insure that swimming kits are in on this day and that children are in school on time or they may miss the coach. It’s important to attend these lessons as swimming is part of our curriculum and it’s lots of fun!
PE – We have PE on a Monday afternoon. Please ensure that kits are in school for this day.
Homework – Homework goes home on a Friday and is due the following Friday. Each week the children will be given a set of spellings and a maths challenge.
In Year 4 we try to support each other with our learning. If we are stuck we know we can ask each other or Miss Kenwell or Mrs Turner for help.
“I love teaching at Ravensbury because we put a lot effort into making things creative. I really enjoy finding new books to read as a class that link to our topic each term – it’s a great challenge! “Miss Kenwell
“We have the most beautifully decorated classroom! You should see our reading corner – it’s like a mini-aquarium!”
